Jason’s family couldn’t hear the voices. They got angry whenever he had conversations that didn’t include them, but the voices were his friends and were a lot nicer than his parents. Mom and Dad were always nagging him to take his meds, and to see the doctor who asked endless questions. He overheard them talking about the hospital. He got scared.

The voices told him to protect himself. They knew who he was and what he needed. He left and went places where his family couldn’t find him.

There are hundreds of reasons people end up on the street, and “I chose to” isn’t one of them. You can help people like Jason. With your support, we can provide the counselling, treatment and community he needs to overcome homelessness.
