Clothing Room Support

We accept donations 24/7, 365 days a year. We constantly receive clothing and personal items, which we make available (at no cost) to homeless and low income Calgarians through our Free Clothing Store. We provide emergency shoes and clothing to clients, when they need it, 24 hours a day. Clothing Room Support is important, allowing us to provide these special services. Whether as an individual, family, or group, Clothing Room Support is an enjoyable and satisfying way to contribute.

Number of Volunteers Needed	2 – 15
Volunteer times	This activity requires a commitment of 1 hour min. to a max of 8 hours between 8:00 AM to 4 PM. We accept volunteer groups 7 days a week.
Description	The groups will sort through bags of donated clothes and hang them in our Clothing Store. In three hours a group of 2-20 people can sort though 50-200 bags of clothing, which would normally take clothing room staff and volunteers more then a month to do! Some items are sorted in piles and then packed for later distribution or to re donate to other charities.
Duties and Responsibilities	Open donated bags of items Sort into piles by clothing type Sort right into the Clothing Store Fold and pack items for distribution Distribute to proper area in the centre Clean up at the end of the activity
Location	#1, Dermot Baldwin Way SE
Training and Supervision	Minimal training required Clothing room staff will be on site to help.

Yesterday, several coworkers and I volunteered at the clothing sort. We had a wonderful time and there are several of us that would love to do it again.

If anyone is looking for a fun thing to do, this is it! We had a great time!

Together with a friend, I want to volunteer to do the “Clothing Sort”, but your website does not appear to have a way to volunteer for this activity specifically. We are both working and only have weekends to participate in volunteer activity that work with our schedules. Please e-mail me back about the oportunities that exist on weekends for this activity.
