Literacy (The Book Nook)

Book Nook

Housed on the Second floor of the Riverfront building, the Book Nook is operated by volunteers, primarily from the Independent Order of Daughters of the Empire (IODE). The purpose of the Book Nook is to emphasize the importance of reading and thinking as life skills.

The Book Nook also meets the needs of our clients who are avid readers. If needed, clients are also able to request a tutor to assist them in improving their reading skills.

Book Nook volunteers also provide library services on sleeping floors.

Donated books are always welcome.
