Every day, the DI serves 3000-3500 meals. In doing so, we feed bodies and spirits, keeping hope alive.
When the Calgary Mountview Lions Club learned that the DI needed two new ovens, they acted. They raised the money needed to buy the ovens, and thanks to their hard-work and generosity, Christmas at the DI is much merrier.
“It’s terrific to see support from great community minded organizations like the Calgary Mountainview Lions Club,” says DI Fund Development Manager Dave Tod.
The kitchen staff also wants to extend their thanks to the Lions Club.
“The old ovens that we have do not heat properly and are constantly breaking down,” says DI Executive Chef Myron Jeffers. “These new ovens will make our lives so much easier in the kitchen as the ovens will be much more efficient and faster in productivity. So again, our sincere Thanks & Gratitude for the Lions Club. We appreciate their continued support.”
