On the sixth day of Christmas, we were inspired…
The DI is filled with hope and compassion. Every day, we’re inspired by our clients and volunteers. This holiday season is no different.
This year, Bernice, a wonderful woman living at the DI, read a Calgary Sun newspaper article by Damien Wood titled “Car Wreck Hurts Holiday”. Damien’s article explains that a young mother was hurt, is unable to work, and is struggling to make the holidays special for her children. Bernice understands how difficult it can be to struggle during the holidays. And she cares. So, she helped. Bernice decided to sponsor the family for Christmas – Bernie used her DI Christmas Wish to sponsor the family for the holidays, and another generous Calgarian gave Bernice her Christmas wish.
We all deserve a Merry Christmas. And we can all make the holidays a little merrier for someone in need.
