I am a newbie in Calgary and still, in many ways, finding my niche in my new surroundings. Spending time at the DI has been so helpful to me in giving me a place where I can feel a part of the community and at the same time a place where I can give my time and attention to those I feel appreciate and benefit from it.

Each time I volunteer at the DI, I leave feeling better. Better about Calgary and the people that make up its community, who do feel a desire to help those that might be in need. I also feel better about myself and all those I get the chance to meet while there. For this, and many more reasons, I feel the need and desire to give back as best I can to this really unique place, without which Calgary, I’m sure would not be what it has become today.

To Lenora C. the DI is… a meeting place, where individuals from all walks of life have a unique opportunity to come together and share many, however small, moments together.
