Shining Lights!

Welcome to the Class of 50! To celebrate our fiftieth anniversary, over the next 12 months we will be profiling an individual every week who has been nominated by members of the DI family as a Shining Light. These individuals demonstrate, through their commitment, attitude, hard-work and generosity of spirit what it means to give back and to make a difference at the DI.

To create the Class of 50 we invited all staff and clients to nominate those people (clients, staff, volunteers) who really make a difference. The final members of the Class of 50 were based on number of nominations an individual received.

The Class of 50 will be presented online every Wednesday, one person a week for the next 50 weeks. All of these individuals are special, and to kick off The Class of 50, we begin with our Client Liaison, Leah.

For Leah the DI is…

A lifelong desire for me is that when my time comes I can leave this world knowing I made a difference and that I mattered. The DI lets me feel like I make a difference and the clients make me feel like I matter. I am the candle in the window that guides someone home, and for that I am grateful.

Leah has worked for the DI for over 5 years.
