One dozen Calgary Drop-In staff and clients participated in the Calgary Scotiabank Marathon on Sunday June 1, proudly wearing “Survival” t-shirts. One of the participants competed the 10km race in a wheelchair!
Ten years ago Allan Cook was involved in horrific mountain biking accident, leaving him quadriplegic, unable to feed himself. This year, mustering all his strength, he pushed his wheelchair the full ten kilometre race. It was incredibly exciting to see Allan and all our runners cross the finish line.
Robin R ran for a cause and fundraised. A big thank you to all Robin’s donors who helped her raise $605 for the Drop-In. You can continue to donate by clicking here.
A big thank you to every one who supported Team DI! And a special thank you Eau Claire Market Running Room and Eau Claire YMCA. Your generous supports motivates low-income and homeless Calgarians to bravely turn that corner.
